Charnley River – Artesian Range Sanctuary

While at AWC’s Mornington Sanctuary The Doc became aware that Australian Wildlife Conservancy (AWC) had taken full control of Charnley River Station (formerly Beverley Springs Station).

Charnley River is about 6 kilometres down the Gibb River Road from Mornington Road. They are not close to each other, as Mornington is a two hour drove off the Gibb River Road and Charnley about an hour off the Gibb the other way.

Charnley River Station contains the amazing Artesian Range, the only place in Australia that has suffered no mammal extinctions since European settlement. AWC is calling it the Charnley River – Artesian Range Sanctuary.

Here is a small selection from Charnley (ex Artesian Range) mostly of Donkey Pools (there are 3) and Dalona Billabong at Dillie Gorge.
