Gregory National Park, the Northern Territory

When The Doc drove to the Kimberley in 2015, he noticed the red escarpments of Gregory National Park. A note was made to return on the NT trip.

While on the road I heard of someone who said there is nothing at Gregory National Park. It seems the red escarpments and the wild crocodile infested Victoria River was boring. I will let the reader reach their own view, after looking at the photos. The Doc thinks that person was either asleep or had a bag over his head.

Most of these shots were taken close to the Victoria River Roadhouse.

Sorry The Doc can only do basic processing on the images.

Tennant Creek

Most of the hard driving is done, The Doc is in Tennant Creek. On the way over he did the Dinosaur Triangle including Winton, Hughenden and Richmond in Outback Queensland. Most of the major finds have been over the last 20 years, some quite spectacular.

The Doc intends to start with the Devils Marbles tomorrow, south of Tennant Creek.

A recreation of the only known dinosaur stampede fossilised at Lark Quarry, 110 kms out of Winton. The reproduction is at the Age of Dinosaurs, Winton.

AWC’s Paruna Sanctuary Perth – wildflowers

While the Doc was in Perth he visited two more AWC Sanctuaries, being Paruna and Karakamia. The wildflowers were out at Paruna. Most wildflowers are very small ½ to 1 cm. Here is a selection. Enjoy. Click on the images to see correct size, the thumbnails are blurry.

The Savannah Lander – Day 4

The last day was mostly train travel from Mt Surprise back to Cairns. The Doc was up early and walked to the railway station, having a look around the township. There was also a small market in front of the station with locals selling to the tourists. A great idea. However the food was mostly in glass, so The Doc passed on the opportunity.

There was some excitement on the way home including the train being held up by young bushrangers. A great way for kids to earn pocket money! The passengers were warned that we’d be robbed 😉

Instead of repeating some of the earlier photos let’s look at some textures, here bark and leaves.

And some rock and minerals. Enjoy.

Next day the flight home. An enjoyable trip which included a visit to Pungalina and the Savannah Lander train trip. Yes The Doc used the wrong watermark on the pictures.

Adjunct Professor of Law, University of Notre Dame, Sydney

Today I accepted the position of Adjunct Professor, School of Law at the University of Notre Dame Sydney. I’m already working on a couple of projects including a course on financial services compliance and another on proofing documents.

Galapagos Day 2 Nov 2013 - 037

Notre Dame is one of the smaller Law Schools but is achieving  great ratings from its students (basically 5 stars).

AWC’s Mornington Sanctuary

We are coming up to May 1st when the Mornington Wilderness Camp reopens. This time last year The Doc was driving to The Kimberley. Report and photos from The Doc’s first trip to Mornington here.

Merry Christmas

The blessings of the Christ Child to all the Christmas and happy and safe New Year.

The Doc has been busy learning how to better post process his images, so the New year should see some selected shots from the past 2 years.
